Gov. Rendell to Help RenewLV Launch Regional Water Initiative

Governor Edward G. Rendell will participate in a press conference at noon tomorrow-June 9, to launch RenewLV’s Regional Water Initiative. This initiative aims to promote regional approaches to managing water/wastewater infrastructure, as a means of promoting cost-efficiency, preserving natural resources, and revitalizing the region’s core communities. At this launch event, RenewLV will roll out a study showing that consolidation of water/wastewater systems could save the Lehigh Valley $40 to 60 million a year.

Joining Governor Rendell at this launch event will be Lehigh County Executive Don Cunningham and Northampton County Executive John Stoffa.

Introductory remarks will be made by Deana Zosky, RenewLV-Co Chair. Charles Marcon, RenewLV Board member and Chair of the Regional Water Initiative, will provide an overview of the campaign.

Note: The event is scheduled to be held outside in the park, not far from the Illick’s Mill parking lot. In the event of rain, it will be moved inside the historic Mill building.

For directions, see the Illick’s Mill website.
